Thanksgiving at our House is exactly what you would expect – ovens roasting vegetables, turkeys basted to perfection and families gathered together to give thanks for the opportunity to be together through good times and the not-so-good times. This year, 25 families hailing from places like Florida, Peru, South Korea, Illinois, Georgia, Puerto Rico and New York will celebrate their harvest of friends, support and hope at their home-away-from-home.
“I am thankful to work with a team of people, both staff and volunteers, who have huge hearts, big smiles, loyalty to our mission and dedication to helping our families.” – Teddy, President
“I am most thankful for the smiling faces of families who greet me every morning when I come to work. I am inspired by their determination, perseverance, and overcoming adversity. The families who stay at our Ronald McDonald House are truly my HEROES!” – Tina, Development Director
“I am thankful for the memories I have made that will last a lifetime. Seeing the true courage and strength our families have is amazing miracle to witness.” – Danielle, Guest Services Manager
“I am thankful that I get to meet and help families coming from nearby states, the entire country and from around the world.” – Pat, Financial Manager
“I am thankful for chicken salad. Warm pretzels on Monday mornings. Handmade cookies. Cold milk. These are weekly donations from very generous folks that make our world go round by making sure our families have delicious breaks in their very long days.” – Sonia, Communications & Educational Outreach
Before the pies hit the plates, we want to express our gratitude for Washington Township Rotary and Rainbow Gymnastics, who volunteer to prepare breakfast and dinner for our families on Thanksgiving and to the students, families and faculty of Parkway Elementary School, who collect all the food that will be prepared on Thanksgiving. We are so very thankful to every volunteer, supporter and donor who cares for the well being of the children who walk through our doors every single day.
Happy Thanksgiving, from RMHSNJ!
